A Better Way to Read. on white lines of 12 to 15 words of equal size—is a relic of the way that books were most easily printed on early printing presses. It persists today out of tradition.   As Al Mohler says, “Books are to be read and used, not collected and coddled.” I have found that writing reviews of the books I read is a valuable way of returning at least one more time to the book to make sure that I understand what the author was trying to say and how he said it. So interact with those books and make them your own.

Search the world's most comprehensive index of full-text books. My library. Here is the Hollow World email I sent out. Notice a few things about this: The cover of the book. A headline: They killed the king. They pinned it on two men. They chose poorly. A one paragraph snappy "back of the book blurb" Quotes from other reviews (use what you have and trade out as you get better ones) Link to sample chapter.

Reviews are a good way of establishing credibility of a work. In fact, I don't think an author should spend a huge amount of time "promoting" a book until you get at least double digit (10+) reviews on Amazon and preferably 15+. It doesn’t have to be a full out review, just a few sentences about what you liked (or didn’t all I ask for.   As a chronicle of adventure, as emotionally charged human drama, as confessional memoir, The Way Out is a transcendent book, a work destined to earn a lasting place in the literature of extremes. Not since John Krakauer's bestselling Into the Wild has a book so compellingly explored the boundary between wilderness adventure and : Little, Brown and Company.
